- John Abramios
- Astronomer and astrologer of the late 14th century and early 15th century. He founded a school that edited classical texts on astrology, medicine, and magic (qq.v.). He practiced magic and cast horoscopes for emperors Andronicus IV Palaiologos and his son John VII Palaiologus (qq.v.). His interest in astrology and magic demonstrates how pervasive such beliefs were throughout late-Byzantine society, even among its intellectuals.
